Easter - Alleluia, Christ is risen! He is risen indeed - Alleluia!

Easter Sunday was glorious! We are thankful for all the musicians who pulled together for Holy Week!

During Lent we had Ladies' Trios in worship and are looking for a time for our Men's and Women's Ensembles to meet and sing from time to time. If you are interested in that, contact Deacon Kathleen.

On April 9th, our 9:30 Easter Service was graced by the beautiful, musical leadership of Guest Musican extraordaire Donna Derrick. Donna led the congregation in a rousing rendition of "Jesus Christ is Risen Today!" Our 8 am and 11 am Festival Easter Worship Services were greatly enhanced by our Choirs, the Joyful Noise Ringers, Barb and Roger Rollins on Brass, and our String Trio. The Combined Choirs brought the "Hallelujah Chorus" and a more modern anthem arrangement from Lloyd Larson, Chris Tomlin's "I Will Rise" into worship. We celebrated and sang, we heard God's Word and celebrated Holy Communion, and it was beautiful.

After Easter Sunday, we resumed our normal weekly Service times of 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00.

8:30 is blended worship with the 8:30 Choir. 9:45 is Contemporary Worship with Chris Morgan and Justin Hadden leadng the music. 11:00 is Traditional Worship with the 11:00 Choir. And we use member and guest musicians as they can be scheduled.

The Easter season continues up until Pentecost Sunday on May 28th. Some of our youth will bring their talents with instruments to 8:30 and 11:00 worship in May. Chris Morgan and Justin Hadden continue to lead our 9:45 am music with help from Donna from time to time. On April 30th, our St Paul Brass Trio brought lovely and celebratory sounds to our 8:30 and 11:00 Services.

Our 8:30 Choir rehearses on Thursdays until the last week of May. Our 11:00 Choir rehearses on Wednesdays until the last week of May. On May 31st - both choirs will rehearse for the month of June together as we prepare for our warmer time of the year.

The arts are a wonderful part of our living and we at St Paul hope that if you are able to visit, after you come in the front Red Doors, look up in the Narthex over the wooden entry doors, and you'll see Toby W. Reese's "Sermon on the Mount" flanked by his paintings of the Birth and Death of Jesus Christ. Toby also sang Tenor with our 8:30 Choir and we remember him fondly. Toby went to be with our Lord in October of 2019, and we are blessed to have this reminder of God's love for all of us in his artwork at the entrance of our worship space. Just as in our stained glass windows and our music, we are blessed with artists to enhance our understanding of how and where God has come to us - while understanding that the art is not the point - but a reflection of the soul and mind of the artist as it points to the love of God in Jesus Christ.

Soli Deo Gloria!
